The challenge
Bills of lading, invoices and customs declarations in different languages, with handwriting or scanned at poor quality, could not be read by traditional OCR.
Our approach and integration
We built an IDP pipeline on vision-language models that read image and text together. Apache Airflow pipelines classify and process every incoming PDF and image automatically, then push the result straight into the customs software.
Results and impact
150,000 complex documents a month enter the system at 99.8% accuracy.
Manual data entry dropped by 85%.
Processing time fell from 45 minutes per document to 12 seconds.
